About the teacher.....

Mr. McCord was born in Woodward Oklahoma and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1986. After graduating, Mr. McCord served four years in the United States Navy; serving two of those years in Newport Rhode Island and the other two in San Diego California. While in the Navy Mr. McCord worked as a Sonar Technician on board the USS Edson and the USS Cook.

Mr. McCord began college at the University of Oklahoma, where he played for Rugby for the Sooners. He graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1996. He has taught and coached at several schools in the state of Oklahoma and Kansas. Mr. McCord worked two summers as an educational consultant in Kabul, Afghanistan. He recently assisted on a Dental Mission to Niger Africa. 

Mr. McCord is married to another Hulbert teacher, Adonna McCord. They have three children: Natalie (10 ), Paul (2), and Dazylin (6 months).

This year Mr. McCord will be teaching 7th Grade Geography, 8th Grade US History and Business/Personal Communications.  He will also be an Assistant Rider Football and Basketball Coach.

On a Personal Note.....

This is my first year at Hulbert, but I plan on being here a very long time.  My wife is from this area and it is important to me to have family nearby.  I'm not really a long walk on the beach kinda fellow, but I do enjoy a long run on a hilly windy road. In addition to running; I enjoy photoshop, weights, and writing the occasional blog.   Although I coach and love Football and Basketball; my true love for sports centers around Rugby.  Provided my wife doesn't find out, I hope to be back out on the Pitch soon. Teaching is my passion and I consider myself lucky to be able to do the job that I love.  I'm excited to be a new member of the Tahlequah First Baptist Church.
